Itálie v kvalifikaci na evropský Å¡ampionát potvrdila roli hlavnÃÂho favorita skupiny H, kterou vyhrála s obdivuhodnou bilancàsedmi výher a třàremÃÂz. Itálie vyhrála pÄ›t z poslednÃÂch sedmi vzájemných zápasů a pomÄ›rnÄ› velkým favoritem na vÃÂtÄ›zstvàbude i v nedÄ›li.
Skotsko
To budeme vÄ›dÄ›t už v nedÄ›li veÄÂer.

Friendly match: Italy – Scotland
On Sunday, as many as 13 international friendly games will be played, including the one between Italy and Scotland. The Azzurri have not been successful in their recent friendly matches but their qualifying campaign for the European championship was truly brilliant. With the final tournament just around the corner, the Italians will surely try to claim victories in their remaining warm-up duels to get the winning spirit. The Scots failed to qualify for the tournament but they are still very strong opponents, which means Italy definitely have their work cut out. Starting at 8:45 PM (CET), the friendly fixture between Italy and Scotland will be played at the Ta Qali Stadium in Malta.
Italy
Italy met the expectations and with an impressive score of seven wins, three draws and no loss, they finished top of the Group H, ahead of Croatia and Norway. For Conte´s men, it will be the sixth consecutive EURO they have qualified for. The Italians began the preparation for the tournament at the end of the last year when they faced Belgium and Romania in two friendly games. Unfortunately for the Azzurri, they failed to win any of these matches as they lost to Belgium (1:3) and only tied with Romania (2:2). In their next preparatory duel, they took on the reigning European champions Spain who they held to a 1:1 draw. However, just a few days later, the Italians suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Germany who dominated the game, beating Italy 4:1. On Sunday, the Azzurri will take on Scotland who they have a very good record against – out of the last seven head-to-head matches, Italy won five. Based on the statistics and the quality of the sides, Italy should have the upper hand this time again.
Scotland
The Scots were fighting for their spot in the European championship until the very last qualifying round but they eventually finished in the fourth place, leaving the third play-off spot to their rivals Ireland. Consequently, Scotland did not even take part in the first preparatory period and it was not until the end of March when they played their first friendly game after the qualifying failure. Strachan´s men faced the Czech Republic in the match and despite having as many as nine debutants in their nomination, they gave a very confident and disciplined performance in Prague, claiming somewhat surprising 1:0 win. In their next match, the Scots continued to assert their authority as they beat Denmark (1:0). Scotland have actually won four friendly games in row, which suggests they really approach this kind of matches with the utmost respect and importance. Let us see if they stick to the habit in the upcoming prestigious battle against Italy too.
Summary
Italy are heading into the European championship with high ambitious and they planned their warm-up matches accordingly as they have been only facing top-notch opponents. After Belgium, Romania, Spain and Germany (all EURO 2016 participants), the Italians will take on Scotland who might not have qualified for the tournament but still represent a tough and competitive side capable of putting Italy through paces. Will Italy put an end to their winless series by beating the Scots? We will know by Sunday night.
